Safety is of paramount importance at Melia Kuala Lumpur. In light of this, we organised a fire drill to ensure that our associates are trained and prepared to protect guests and themselves in case of an emergency. A mock emergency scenario was carried out and Melia’s recently certified first aiders and Emergency Response Team sprung into action! All associates participated ensuring Melia stays a safer place!

Sexual Harassment Talk

Regardless of race, religion, rank and gender, everyone is to be treated with equal respect. Sexual Harassment is a very common attenuation of both respect and rights.

Unfortunately, people often have a misconception of sexual harassment and how to deal with it. In line with our philosophy and values, we organised a talk on Sexual Harassment, as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility Initiatives.

The talk was given by Ms. Noreen Preusser of P.S. the Children. In her talk, the eloquent Ms. Noreen gave an overview of the topic, types and examples of sexual harassment as well as enlighten associates on the effects, how to deal with and prevention of sexual harassment.

Handling Guest Complaints Training!

The famous English poet, Alexander Pope once said “To err is human, to forgive, divine.” At Melia Kuala Lumpur, we strive to do our best, but fall short of our goal at times. When this happens, it is normal for our guests to air their grievances.

In light of this, we organised a training session for our associates on how to effectively deal with customer complaints. The training involved some 30 associates and was conducted by MEF Academy’s Mr. Sri Vahlsan. A veteran in the hospitality industry, Mr. Sri drew upon his vast experience to deliver his points to associates.

Associates also learned through various discussions, role plays and activities. Mr. Sri’s fun approach had associates in stitches on countless occasions as well as encouraging participation!
