Chinese New Year Cheer 2012

Over 70 children from two underprivileged homes were all smiles when they received ‘Ang Pows’ or money packets from Melia Kuala Lumpur’s Director of Operations, Mr. Adrian Prado. The children were feted to a sumptuous hi-tea as part of our Community Involvement Initiatives. The children from Ti – Ratana children’s home and the House of Joy, also had the opportunity to toss ‘Yee Sang’ with Melia Kuala Lumpur’s management team. ‘Yee Sang’ is a traditional Malaysian Chinese dish to symbolize prosperity, longevity & good fortune.

Welcoming the Year of the Water Dragon

Two lions made a roaring entrance at Melia Kuala Lumpur to welcome the Year of the Water Dragon during the recent Chinese New Year celebrations. The lions went around the hotel to usher in a year of prosperity. The God of Prosperity handed out Mandarin Oranges and tossed handfuls of coins to guests in the lobby to signify an abundance of luck and wealth. Guests were also amazed by an acrobatic performance by the Lions and Dragon.
