Household Financial Literacy Programme

It was a very special day for over 30 women as they graduated from their Household Financial Literacy Programme. The programme is conducted by Malaysian Care and is aimed at improving the financial literacy amongst women in low income families, resulting in better financial freedom. As part of our CSR initiatives, Melia Kuala Lumpur hosted the ceremony together with Malaysian Care and treated the ladies to a dinner to remember!

Malaysia Merdeka Endurance Race

The searing heat did not stop our associates from cheering on the Melia sponsored Team Aylezo in the Malaysia Merdeka Endurance Race. The sporty Lotus Evora driven by Mr. Zen Low competed against other the other racing machines in the Sepang F1 Circuit. Melia associates had a great time cheering on Team Aylezo and enjoying the sumptuous buffet prepared for them!

Animal Welfare Talk

At Meliá Kuala Lumpur, we are concerned over the increase in acts of cruelty against animals. As we feel that people should be aware and protect the rights of animals, we organised a talk on Animal Welfare for associates and members of the public. The talk was given by Ms. Pyo Ng and Mr. Kelvin of the SPCA. During the talk, Ms. Pyo touched on animal welfare and rights as well as enlighten associates on what the SPCA does and what members of the public can do to provide animals with better protection.

Supporting the Malaysian Hotel Industry

Meliá Kuala Lumpur has signed up to be one of the sponsors of the Culinaire Malaysia 2011. Culinaire 2011 is region's largest culinary competition and will give immense publicity for our associates who will be participating. As a sponsor we will be sponsoring rooms for the foreign judges thus promoting our hotel locally and internationally. A press conference was held on 8th September 2011 attended by Mr. Adrian Prado, Director of Operations and Mr. Terry J, Marcom Manager.
